Hot Topic #146:

This week is Earth Day, and many Americans will celebrate by spending time outside: hiking in National Parks, sitting in backyards, and playing with their kids at local playgrounds. Our country is so big, that we all have different landscapes that feel like home.
Where do you feel most at home?
  • A snowy mountain range
  • A peaceful lakefront
  • Fields of farmland
  • A sandy beach
  • An old-growth forest
The United States was the first country to create a modern protected National Park system, with Yellowstone in 1872. Caring for and protecting the wilderness is a big part of being American. Along with the flag, America's National Parks and nature are a big source of pride.
Which natural landmark is a source of national pride to you?
The Grand Canyon
Yellowstone Guyser
Redwood Forest
