If someone you loved (like your child) was being discriminated against, would you speak up for them?

Clearly, you are a person who stands up for the people she loves.

If “Concerned Mom in Michigan” was your friend, how would you support her and her son?

  • Drop by their house and be a good friend and listener
  • Do my research on marriage equality
  • Let her and her son know that I love and support them
  • Offer to help in any way I can
  • Look up ways to get involved in my town
  • If I hear someone talking negatively about gay people, I’ll tell them to stop

What are some ways you could support a loved one who is being discriminated against without speaking up in the moment?

  • Talk to the person who was discriminating and tell them it was not okay
  • Write a letter or social media post letting the community know what happened
  • Check in with my loved one, do something nice for them
