This time of year is expensive, and many families are feeling the pinch. Being generous when you’re stressed about money is hard...that’s why the “season of giving” is such a great reminder of our values. Tipping isn’t the only way to be generous.

What are some ways you like to be generous when you’re low on cash?

  • Sharing extra food with neighbors
  • Offering to shovel or help with yardwork
  • Taking care of my friend’s kids
  • Showing up to events to support my friend or family member

People working in restaurants and bars aren’t the only folks who get tips for the holidays. Some people give holiday tips to mail carriers, laundromat workers, sanitation workers, teachers, or nannies.

Have you ever given a holiday tip like that?

How did receiving that holiday gift make you feel?
