That old adage “Beggars can’t be choosers” is often used to silence people who ask for things. 

Can you think of a time when you tried to ask for something and someone told you “Beggars can’t be choosers” or to be happy with what you’re offered?

The person who needs help always knows what they need better than someone who watched them.
